Who am I
My name is Emma, I am Romanian-Belgian national, currently studying medicine at Maastricht University. Medicine studies at Maastricht University are problem-driven and patient-oriented. For the next few years, I will continue my learning path in key medical specialties (e.g. surgery, pediatrics, internal medicine, etc.) in various hospitals in the Netherlands and abroad.
Why
I always loved to help others as much as I could. Millions of people are diagnosed with cancer every year worldwide. Many of them are preventable. Others can be cured, if diagnosed early. Thanks to patient education, cancer advocacy, early detection, effective therapies and supportive care, there are over 12 million cancer survivors in Europe. Unfortunately, not everyone receives the best combination of medical treatments and patient care.
Specialties
As a future medical doctor, I would like to focus on cancer-related therapies that put the patient at the centre of our cancer-beating strategies.
