Tania Crombet Ramos on the Center of Molecular Immunology approach for treatment of cancer

Tania Crombet Ramos, MD, PhD, Clinical Research Director at the the Center of Molecular Immunology in Cuba, tells us all about how they go about treatment of cancer. Her presentation highlighted the strategy as well as the most important results of the Center of Molecular Immunology on cancer immunotherapy. As part of the presentation, some scientific results of nimotuzumab and cimavax-EGF were discussed. The novel portfolio on immunomodulatory molecules was also introduced.

The Center of Molecular Immunology is a closed-cycle Cuban biotechnological institution (research-development, production, commercialization), which directs its basic research, development and manufacture of products for the treatment of cancer and other autoimmune diseases from the culture of superior cells. The mission of the institute is to obtain and produce new biopharmaceuticals for the treatment of cancer and other non-communicable chronic diseases and introduce them into Cuban Public Health. Make scientific and productive activity economically sustainable and make contributions to the country’s economy.
