Inspire2Live Hero of Cancer Award for Professor Dr. Wil Ngwa (1)

Inspire2Live is proud to announce that Professor Dr. Wil Ngwa of Johns Hopkins University has been awarded the 2026 Inspire2Live Patient Advocates Hero of Cancer Award. This honor recognizes not only scientific excellence, but a profound commitment to ensuring that every patient—regardless of country or circumstance—benefits from the latest advances in cancer care.

Professor Ngwa, a University Professor in Radiation Oncology and Global Health, is the founding Director of the Global Health Catalyst at Harvard and Johns Hopkins. He co-founded the Global Oncology University, an award‑winning platform that democratizes access to world‑class cancer education. His achievements have been celebrated by prestigious institutions worldwide, and he currently advises the U.S. government on global health.

Inspire2Live has worked with Professor Ngwa for years and has been consistently inspired by his guiding question:
“How will this help patients everywhere, especially the underserved?”
While many researchers focus on advancing knowledge, Professor Ngwa distinguishes himself by transforming breakthroughs into practical solutions for low‑ and middle‑income countries—where the need is greatest and resources are scarce.

Each year at our Annual Congress, we present the Patient Advocates Hero of Cancer Award to someone whose work both advances patient care and reminds us why that mission matters. Professor Ngwa exemplifies this spirit. He shows what it means to pair scientific leadership with moral courage, bringing hope and dignity to patients across the globe.

Inspire2Live is honored to recognize Professor Dr. Wil Ngwa as the 2026 recipient of this award. His vision inspires action, and his work brings us closer to a world where every patient counts.
