Nodir Egamberdiev, a transformative healthcare leader from Uzbekistan, with the advanced degrees in health analysis, policy, and administration. He specializes in promoting global health innovation, devising strategies, and ensuring fair access to essential healthcare services. He specialises in health systems strengthening, health economic policy and evaluation, universal health coverage, and integrated funding for long-term healthcare development. His expertise includes facilitating technology transfer and capacity building, developing local manufacturing capabilities, fostering cross-sector partnerships, and implementing impact-driven social business models to improve access to early cancer diagnostics and oncology medicines in low- and middle-income countries, particularly in Central Asia.

Being an effective manufacturer of cancer medicines and providing access to cancer diagnostics is essential. However, for me, the true priority comes from centring patients in this process, aligning stakeholders' interests according to patients' needs—not the other way around—and actively advocating for them. Over the past six years, I have had the privilege of meeting and supporting thousands of cancer patients in Uzbekistan by carefully listening to their needs. My motivation every day comes from the opportunity to be a dedicated patient advocate, ensuring their voices are heard and their concerns addressed.
