Sheeba Paul, Managing Director of Exodus Exports Pvt Ltd, is leading an initiative that addresses two urgent needs: the prevention of tobacco-related cancer and the support of cancer patients undergoing treatment. Her approach is as impactful as it is compassionate — by transforming the lives of women who once worked in the hazardous beedi (tobacco rolling) industry.
In collaboration with the Cancer Institute (WIA) in Chennai, India, Exodus Exports provides employment opportunities to underprivileged women with little or no formal education. These women are offered skill development training in crafting human hair extensions and wigs — high-quality products that bring comfort and dignity to cancer patients who experience hair loss during treatment.
This initiative does more than offer a safe and permanent job. It restores self-worth. It protects health. And it creates a ripple effect of hope — for the women, for their families, and for the patients they now help support.
