Venzislava Dacheva

I am Venzislava, I am a Bulgarian, a proud mother of grown up daughter and son, who have chosen to build their lives abroad. A microbiologist by education, a traveller and nature lover at heart and a former government official with more than 20 years of experience in international cooperation and bilateral relations. I am part of Bulgarian Association for Personalized Medicine team and being responsible for identifying funding programs and initiatives (at EU and global level) providing opportunities and support for various endeavours in the field of personalized medicine education, patient advocacy and digital healthcare. I am also part-time university lecturer for Master students in courses on “European Funds and Programs”, “Investment Projects Management” and other.

I was 24 years old when a close family member lost his battle with lung cancer. I will never forget how devastated we were, powerless to help him in any way. At the time, I was a student of biochemistry and microbiology at St. Kliment Ohridski University in Sofia, Bulgaria and planned to pursue a career in cancer diagnosis and treatment. But it so happened that my professional path took a different direction. I am excited having now the opportunity to meet so many people from different parts of the world and different backgrounds with whom we share common values and views and to be devoted patient advocates.

My professional experience is related to knowledge of the regulatory framework, preparation of project proposals and documents, expert assessments, studies and analyses. I would gladly contribute to expanding networks, bringing people together around specific ideas, raising awareness and building partnerships.
