About Maria Adriana Sanford (Koeck)

Adriana Sanford’s career spans academia, legal practice, and public advocacy. Appointed by the ABA International Law Section to the National Security Law Committee Steering Group, she has served as a Fortune 50 senior counsel and as an international TV commentator, reaching 93 million viewers on CNN Español. Sanford holds a dual LL.M. degree from Georgetown Law and a J.D. from Notre Dame Law School. Her academic appointments include Dean's Visiting Scholar at Georgetown, Lincoln Professor of Corporate Compliance and Ethics at ASU, Senior Fellow at OU’s Center for Intelligence and National Security, and Senior Research Fellow at Claremont Graduate University. She is fluent in English, Spanish, French, and Portuguese, proficient in Italian, and has a basic understanding of German.
Sanford's research concentrates on multijurisdictional conflicts, international privacy law, and compliance issues. She co-authored seminal books on ethics and global threats for the Institute for Supply Management. Sanford serves as Of Counsel with Puga Ortiz Abogados in Chile, an adjunct faculty member at the University of San Diego, Knauss School of Business, and she leads the Cybersecurity Leadership at Telecom4Good. Additionally, her roles have extended to serving on the advisory committee of the World Economic Forum's Partnering Against Corruption Initiative. Sanford has been honored as the 2019 Cybersecurity and Privacy Woman Law Professional of the Year. Her family legacy includes Franz Schweyer, Bavarian Interior Minister, who opposed Adolf Hitler and became one of the earliest victims of the Holocaust.
